Our Mission

The North Coast Resource Conservation & Development Council is doing business as Conservation Works. Our mission is to support resource protection and community sustainability in Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Lake Counties of northern California.

We accomplish our mission by performing environmental education and action with youth and our community that involves on-the-ground change and makes a real difference in:

  • Ecosystem Restoration

  • Water Conservation

  • Climate Change

  • Fire Resiliency

  • Healthy sustainable communities in our rural north coast..

Our Vision

We wish to serve our communities as a regional environmental and agricultural organization that works collaboratively to protect the environment and foster economic growth with sound land stewardship practices, working in the areas of forestry, natural resources, and sustainable agriculture in the North Coast.

We realize our vision by turning ideas into actions and leverage our strength through partnering with other agencies and organizations as we develop, fund, and implement programs to address:

  • climate change

  • droughts and water resources

  • biodiversity and habitat conservation and restoration

  • agro-economic sustainability to cultivate commerce and support our local entrepreneurs

  • agricultural diversity and natural resource conservation

  • fire resiliency

  • forest and fisheries health
